Training course in Japan "Facility Development" successfully ended

Training course in Japan for the counterparts titled "facility development" was conducted from 1st to 11th July.

They listened to the lecture on facility development policy in Japan and learned the application and practice in some cities, and also visited 6 treatment facilities and learned some types of contract and technology.

Experimental works in Xuan Son

Under the activity of Pre-F/S of Soc Son Complex in this Project, Landfill Mining and Reclamation (LFMR) and Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) for experimental works in Xuan Son have started since this month, in order to consider applying for some scenarios in the Pre-F/S. For the works of LFMR, after excavation and drying of landfilled waste, vibration screen was set up and trial operation was made yesterday.

2nd JCC meeting

On 11th May 2015 (Monday), second Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting was organized at MOC, chaired by Dr. Nguyen Hong Tien, General Director of ATI, MOC. Counterparts from MOC, Hanoi DOC, Hanoi URENCO, Thua Thien Hue Province, representatives of JICA, and experts attended the meeting, for the purpose of sharing the project progress in 2014 and annual plan in 2015.   

CSS in the central region

On 27th April, CSS in the central region was held in Mondial Hotel, Thua Thien Hue Province, with the participation of solid waste management related agencies from Thua Thien Hue Province, Hoi An Province, and Quang Tri Province. The topic of this seminar was technology selection in the province, and the lecture and practice were conducted for local government's capacity development.

Inception Meeting in Thua Thien Hue Province

Inception meeting in Thua Thien Hue Province was held on 27th April, with the participation of Ministry of Construction, Thua Thien Hue Province and JICA expert team. Task for formulation of master plan was presented by Department of Construction, Thua Thien Hue Province, and  the inception report on master plan development containing the present situation in Thua Thien Hue Province was presented by JICA expert team.

Hanoi Meeting- Review of Activities in 2014 and Plan of Activities in 2015

The omnibus meeting regarding Hanoi Activities was held in Hanoi URENCO on March 12, chaired by Mr. Doan Thuan Long, Vice Director of Unit A. The objective of this meeting was to review the activities conducted in 2014 and to share lessons learned and opinions and also to discuss and confirm activities and products planned in 2015 among participants from MOC, Hanoi DOC, Unit A, Hanoi URENCO, and JET.
